Curl Squat Press

This full body movement builds strength and stamina when you need to move and lift things, making you one bad mamma jamma!

HOW TO DO IT:

  • Hold a dumbbell in each hand
  • Stand with feet about shoulder width apart
  • Point toes straight forward and let dumbbells hang by your sides
  • Keep back and neck straight – don’t look up or down
  • Push hips back to begin squat and go as low as you can
  • Stand back up, curling the weights up to your shoulders as you go
  • Press the dumbbells straight up overhead
  • Lower weights, then release the curl as you lower back into another squat
  • Combine everything into one fluid movement
  • Repeat

MAKE IT COUNT:

  • Do as many as you can
  • Literally – don’t stop until you can’t safely complete another rep

MAKE IT EASIER:

  • Do it without the weights
  • Only lower yourself into a partial squat

MAKE IT HARDER:

  • Use heavier weights
  • Go slower

MAKE IT FUN:

  • Share this with a friend so you have a workout buddy!

PRACTICAL USES:

  • Lifting your suitcase and stowing it overhead
  • Picking up groceries and putting them on a high shelf
  • Throwing small children in the air to entertain them
  • Shot put
